#dry .....Today was a tough day. Nothing extraordinarily terrible happened. It was just one of those days where I felt tapped out. I didn't have anything more to give to anyone. I was empty. Dry. Ever had those days? Those times when you've had just about enough of the world and would rather be alone for awhile? Where the mere thought of seclusion in a quiet space brings with it an immediate sense of relief? If you find yourself in the same space with me today, be encouraged because it is temporary. It will pass. Just remember, when people are needing more of you than you have to give, just keep giving them back to God. Be intentional about getting rest and spend ridiculous amounts of quiet time alone in God's presence. He is faithful and able to relieve us of the weight of the world while restoring and replenishing ours souls as we spend time within His still waters. ~M. ❤ ********************************** "The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. #pendulum I believe the majority of us have made mistakes - done seriously reckless or crazy things we regret. At least I know I have. Yet. there are times I've been swift to pass judgment when others have done the same. Do you find that our memory is long when it's someone else mess, but it's short when it concerns our stuff? I'm working on being more aware of hypocritical judgement. More so because I know how it feels to be on the other end of it. I think it helps to be mindful of it and do our best to be as merciful, compassionate, and understanding with others as we would be with ourselves. Yes, it's not easy. Yes, it takes a lot of prayer and hard work, but it's worth it. Don't you think? I think so. Scratch that. So often we want people to fit our version of who we want them to be. At times I've played the potter and other times I felt like the clay. As the potter, I found myself projecting my insecurities and fears onto others rather than looking within to see, accept and heal my fractured parts. When I was the clay, I was a top rate people pleaser. I didn't have boundaries and would often bend and twist my soul to become what someone wanted or needed me to be. But no matter what end I found myself on, both were equally unhealthy. Thankfully, I've healed and grown so I no longer try to conform to meet any person's idea of who they think I should be. I also learned to stop pushing my will against someone else's soul to avoid facing my own pain. You see there is only one Potter, and we are the clay. And, in God's amazing, mighty hands, we can be certain He will masterfully shape and mold us to fulfill His plans for our lives. So if you are playing the potter, get that person off your potter's wheel, move out the way and let God be God in their lives. Ask God to reveal that hole you're trying to make another person fill. Now if you happen to feel like clay in another human's hands, I urge you to pray, speak up with love and erect healthy boundaries. Then be about the business of seeking God so you can understand the origin of the behavior and heal from it. In the end, if we dare to be honest with ourselves, these broken paths will ultimately lead us to God and the healing we so desperately need. ~M.❤🙏🏽 ********************************* " But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand." #grace .......No matter how difficult this life gets or what comes our way, God's grace - His divine balm - is available at every unexpected turn or dark path we may encounter. God's grace causes us to endure and to move forward in hope in spite of it all. So receive His grace and be encouraged. God knows. He is always with you.
